Poppie's Buddy

When we found out that we were having a little boy, my Pop was so excited! There hadn't been a boy in the family in a long time and Pop was so used to all the girls --- daughter's and granddaughter's. When Zachary was finally born, he was beside himself! When he first laid eyes on Zachary, he repeated "he's too pretty to be a boy!" Since the day he was born, Pop has had a connection with Zachary and just adores him.... it's soooo sweet :)
With Pop being an avid hunter, he always says that he'll have Zachary out in the woods with him one day and I know he looks forward to this.
When I had the chance to have a bib personalized, I knew exactly what I wanted it to say... so, we wrote this special message on a camo bib, just for Poppie. I took these pics of Zachary and printed the pictures for Pop to take with him on his hunting trip... so he would have a reminder of his "Future Hunting Buddy!"

6 Months Old

That's right, our baby boy is 6 months old!
These pictures were taken on his "1/2 Birthday" - March 3, 2009.
We cannot believe the past 6 months have flown by like they have! It's a very strange feeling... on one hand, it seems like it was forever ago that we were bringing him home from the hospital and on the other hand, it seems like we've barely blinked and he's 6 months old!
Zachary has been such a blessing to our family. It's hard to remember life before Zachary was born.... he is such a wonderful addition and definitely makes life interesting! He is very easygoing, loves to add his own comments to our conversation and go everywhere that we do.
We can already tell that he's got his Daddy's daredevil streak to him --- he loves to be thrown into the air, swinging very high and loves being scared!
Here are a few things that Zachary is up to, now that he's 6 months old:
  • Eating Stage 1 Solid Foods. His favorites are Bananas and Sweet Potatoes.
  • Sleeping through the night! Yayyyy!
  • Zachary is VERY ticklish, especially under his arms and on his feet (just like mommy!)
  • He's fascinated with Lexi and Rocko. When they walk by, he laughs at them!
  • LOVES bathtime!
  • Has rolled over from his tummy to his back several times and still working on rolling over from his back to his tummy.
  • He loves to grab his toes :)
  • Zachary enjoys riding in his big boy stroller and going for walks.
  • He loves his new swing at Popa and Gigi's house.
  • He loves "talking" to people in the grocery store! It's impossible to have a Publix trip any shorter than an hour... Zachary talks to everyone!
  • Since he hasn't cut any teeth yet, he has the cutest "gummy smile" I've ever seen :)

We can't even imagine what the next 6 months hold for Zachary's development.... but we're sure it'll be very busy around the Yates household :)

Here are a few pictures from Zachary's 6 Month Birthday:

He's such a sweet little boy!

That's right Zachary! 6 months old! :)

Here's Zachary saying... "I Love Mommy"
awwwww :)

He LOVES playing with the dogs.... Lexi is the only one that will tolerate him, haha

Enjoying the Beautiful Weather

After a few chilly days, Zachary was itching to go outside... so, on a warm day last week, we took advantage of the beautiful weather :)

He loves to be outside! We enjoyed every moment.

I Love my Baby Boy

I Love my Baby Boy. That's all I wanted to say :)

Hooray!!!

I'm going to knock on wood before typing this... {knock, knock}
We FINALLY have a baby that is SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!
Yes, our little angel, has decided that he will allow his parents some much needed sleep! Zachary has slept through the night (STTN) for 3 days in a row now. Let me tell you, it has been amazing. Last night, for instance, he went to sleep at 9:30pm and woke up for a bottle, at 6:30am.
This has been a long road to arrive at this glorious destination... we are used to getting up: 2... 3.... and sometimes, 4 times with him at night! (I know, it's CRAZY!)
If I heard one more Mom tell me that "their baby
has been sleeping through the night since they brought them home"... I could've slapped them :)
I had a feeling that my baby wouldn't be a good sleeper... my Mom haunted me with the fact that I didn't STTN until I was over a year old!
I am so sorry Mom, I now know how terrible that was!
Please say a little prayer for us that this will continue... Matt and I have really enjoyed our sleep the past few nights! :) We'll keep you updated!

A Dose of Adorable...

This picture is specifically for Daddy... Matt bought him this Jaguar E-Type before he was even born! Trying to instill the love of Jags at an early age!

Where are you driving to, Zachary?!!?

My little boy is growing up so quickly....

Who could resist that face?!

He loves his cute puppy... Thanks Jennifer, Andre and Madeline!

He loves to EAT his puppy!

All smiles :)

Mommy's Mr. Cool... is clearly too cute for words.

Ohhh, I just love his furry boots!

"Little Buddy!" :)

My Two Boys

Zachary loves spending time with his Daddy... :)
This past Sunday, I laid down for a few hours due to not feeling well and Matt took care of Zachary. When I came downstairs, I walked all around the house looking for them and when I peaked out the front window, this is what I saw....
My two boys.
This put the biggest smile on my face!
Matt was preparing his truck for our upcoming Land Rover camping/trail trip next weekend (which is why he took the front fender off temporarily, haha) and decided to bring Zachary outside with him. Zachary had been hanging out with Daddy and fell asleep sitting in his seat on the driveway. It was the cutest.thing.ever.

So peaceful... hanging out with Daddy.

I can just picture them, in a few years, tinkering outside with cars... they'll be best buds :)

Later that night, Matt pulled out his Playstation, (which hasn't been touched in almost a year) and played a racing game. Zachary was soooo into the game too!

Both boys are in deep concentration...
"Mommy... you're messing us up!"

Not ready for bed, yet...

After getting ready for bed, Zachary came downstairs to say goodnight to his Daddy. He was not ready for bed, AT ALL! He was in such a talkative mood and just wanted to laugh and play :)
He's such a happy boy!

We love this baby <3
